The Bouddi Society

The Bouddi Society is a cultural group which organises events and publications to raise money for local charities and to provide the opportunity for the community to join together for artistic, musical and other cultural occasions. We emphasise creative activity in the arts, writing and discussion that help to enrich our awareness of the beautiful place in which we live and to 'celebrate time, place and community'. We support other groups in their social and environmental awareness, concerns and actions.

Our series "Sunday Afternoons by the Bay" staged at the Wagstaffe Hall has proved very successful with performances by our exceptional local talent and visiting artists.

The Society's History Project is an ongoing task to produce a history of the Bouddi Peninsula in the form of recollections and photographs from the local community and hisorical sources. A CD-ROM is being producing in association with a DVD film and a hard cover book to be released in 2010.

We circulate a quarterly newsletter Bouddi News, to inform and bring together people from MacMasters to Wagstaffe.

The Society has produced for sale a number of publications including
"Reflections from the Beach and the Bay", "The Sinking of the Maitland" & "Finding a Goon Within".

Multi-media productions include "The Place where the World Turns Around", "A Night Before the Mast" and "Bouddi 2000, a community celebration".
