Description: I find great inspiration in the beautiful Bouddi National Park which is at my back door and the sound of Brisbane Waters breathing.
My work is always paired with an inspirational poem and this one by Dylan Thomas  "From Under Milkwood" was my choice for this painting.
“Now behind the eyes and secrets of the dreamers in the streets,
rocked to sleep by the sea,
see the titbits and topsyturvies, bobs and buttontops,
bags and bones, ash and rind and dandruff and nailparings,
saliva and snowflakes and moulted feathers of dreams,
the wrecks and sprats and shells and fishbones,
whale-juice and moonshine and small salt fry dished up by the hidden sea.”

CV:  “ I do not paint the landscape. The sensation and experience of applying the Mediums, become the landscape”.
Meg Lewer has tiptoed into the creative world with a poetic spirit and dreamlike expressionism  to interpret the shadows and reflections of her landscape using a non-traditional medium.

‘After many years of painting and drawing, I felt I could not express an emotional response to my vision using conventional methods and began experimenting with Spirit Based Inks. Acid free, fast drying and translucent, they hum with a creative energy of their own.  Adding other mediums within the body of the painting allows the viewer his own interpretation of the work, a place he can escape to, and the creation of their own story…’
Megs’ subjects change from week to week but the overriding force involves colour and the visual delight it brings to so many subjects. Her art is a reflection of that endless quest to capture the blessings of nature swirled around with a dram of whimsical romanticism.
