She creates a visual language to communicate a mark of human activity or just the seasonal play of light and shadow. She was awarded her Master of Arts Degree from the University of KwaZulu Natal (Pietermaritzburg Campus). She emigrated to rural Australia in 2002 and in 2004 she participated in her first Australian group exhibition at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery, NSW. Date has taught Visual Arts in South Africa and in regional NSW for a number of years. Since 2018, Date has pursued her arts practice full time. Amongst others, she is a Calleen Art Prize finalist and has exhibited in a number of solo and group exhibitions in NSW and interstate. She now provides work to exhibit and sell both locally and inter-state with subsequent sales being made within Australia and internationally.
